Our Chosen Charity for 2019

We are excited to announce that we will supporting a well-known British cancer charity for 2019. We are looking forward to getting stuck in and raising as much money as we can.

The Nomination Process

Towards the end of last year, we asked each employee to vote for a charity they would like to support for 2019 and their reason for choosing the charity. We also asked them to let us know which type of charity activities they would like to get involved in. Once employees had placed their votes, it was down to the directors to make the overall decision based on employees’ responses.

A Personal Connection

Choosing the correct charity is important to us as we need to ensure employees are passionate about the charity we are supporting. The largest percentage of employees voted for a U.K. Cancer Charity from personal experiences with the charity and seeing the impact they make first hand.

“My great uncle volunteered at Royal Derby Hospital for 11 years until he was diagnosed with Brain Tumor and sadly died this year. He spent the majority of his 11 years helping in the unit, and they also looked after him until he was moved to a home. They help so many people, so would be a great charity to work with.”
- Laura Edwards, Relationship Executive

“In September this year I lost my beautiful, courageous and wonderful cousin to Cancer, she was only 42 years old and leaves behind two gorgeous children. During her last few months, she was cared for in the cancer hospice and had 24 hour care - the genuine care and support that she and her husband and children received during this incredibly difficult time was amazing and they need all the money that they can get to keep these places going and keep training the wonderful nursing staff to help other families during the most difficult of times.”
- Carolyn Mars, Operations Executive

Follow our fundraising activities

Last year we raised an awesome £4,255 for three charities; Cancer Research, Alex’s Wish and British Heart Foundation. You can read our Charity blog from last year to find out about the activities we got up to HERE.

We will be raising money throughout the year by taking part in various activities like bake days, sports, sweepstakes, competitions and team challenges. Keep a look out for charity updates on our social media channels and most importantly to find out how you can support us and donate to our chosen charity. We are hoping to raise even more money this year and we are thrilled to be supporting an amazing charity in 2019.
