We're excited to introduce Oluwatomi, also known as Tomi, our new HR and Operations Executive!
Since joining Sort Group, Tomi has brought a fresh energy to the role, working closely with the Group Head of HR and Group Operations Manager to help create a supportive and balanced work environment to improve both business success and staff wellbeing.
Despite being new to the role, Tomi has already become a valued member of the Sort Group team.

Tell us a bit about your role with the company…
My role as the Group HR and Operations Executive is a dual one, working with the Group Head of HR and Group Operations Manager to manage people and operations processes. I aim to help create a balanced and productive work environment that supports both business growth and employee satisfaction.
How have you found it at Sort Group so far?
My experience at Sort Group has been interesting. It’s been a great environment for learning and growing professionally. I’ve also enjoyed working with different people across the diverse teams in the company. It is overall a very positive workplace.
What did you do before joining Sort Group?
I’ve been focused on building my expertise in HR and Administrative Assistance as an HR and Executive Support over the past couple of years. Then Sam Bailey found me on LinkedIn… (LOL) We’ve got the best and a fantastic recruitment team at Sort Group. Highly efficient, and getting through the interview process was a great one with Lets Recruit.
What do you enjoy most about working in HR and operations?
What I enjoy most about working in HR and Operations is the opportunity to work with amazing people, Carolyn and Scott. I also enjoy improving HR processes and making operations run smoothly.
How would your friends and family describe you in 3 words?
Friendly, Observant and Resilient
What did you want to be when you were young?
A nurse…. LOL. Always loved the nurses cap and wanted to become one just for that…
What is your favourite film/TV show?
I always love a sit-com. Fun Fact: I’ve seen Friends and Big Bang Theory 10 times each.
If you could invent one thing, what would it be?
A Teleportation Device
If you could make an office rule that everyone had to follow for a day, what would it be?
LOL.. At 3pm, we’d take a 5-minute dance break, and everyone must join in.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?
The best piece of advice I’ve received is to never give up. It’ll happen eventually.
What would you say to someone looking to start a career in HR?
Focus on developing strong communication and empathy skills. You need to be able to understand people and build strong relationships with them. So be a good listener and always stay curious and open to learning.
