What is an RIO mortgage?
With a RIO mortgage, the client would repay the interest every month, but not the capital of the loan. The loan amount tends to be repaid when the home is sold, which could be when the client passes away or moves into long-term care.
Who are the suppliers on panel for this new mortgage?
It’s important to note that there are not many solicitor firms on our panel who can deal with this type of work, however, we do have dedicated teams from Equilaw or Stratford Solicitors that will be able to carry out these cases.
How do I quote for a RIO mortgage?
We’ve made the process simple for you to generate a quotation for your cases within your SortRefer account…

- Click Quote/Refer
For Purchase cases:
- Click Conveyancing product
- Continue to Quote
- Enter quote details as you normally would
- Then select the RIO additional option
- Click to get quote and then save
For Standard Remortgage cases:
- Click Remortgage and Fixed Price Legals product
- Continue to Quote
- Enter quote details as you normally would
- Then select the RIO additional option (please note – you can not get a quote for a RIO mortgage through the Fixed Price Legals tab)
- Click to get quote and then save
