We’d like to welcome Ruth Shearer to the SortRefer team! Ruth’s role as a Telephone Account Assistant will be to support the Telephone Account Managers with incoming calls and queries. We took some time to ask Ruth a few questions and find out how she’s settling into her new role.
What was your first ever job?
I worked in a clothing shop when I was 17 and stayed there for a year.
What was your previous role before joining SortRefer?
My previous role was as a Qualified Childcare Practitioner. I worked in the 2-3 room, assisting with the running of the room and day to day activities. I created a partnership with the parents to create the best environment for the children.
What are you looking forward to learning the most in your new role?
I am really enjoying my role and learning about the industry. I’m looking forward to learning about the conveyancing process in-depth as I haven’t come from this background its all new to me. So expanding my knowledge of conveyancing and keeping up to date with changes in the industry is something I’m looking forward to learning.
What are your first impressions of the job role?
I’m really enjoying the role. The support from the team has been amazing, and they are very knowledgeable. I like that I’m challenging myself and learning something that’s new to me.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I love reading so will regularly read books. I love exploring new places, so I will go to historical places such as Tutbury castle, Elvaston Castle and Calke Abbey. I love cricket! So, I try to go to as many cricket matches as I can in a year.
What is your favourite food?
Definitely Chinese food is my absolute favourite. Also, anything sweet I usually love!
What’s your favourite place you’ve ever visited?
This is a tough one. I would probably say Scarborough as I have lots of happy memories there. I love the old style beach front and the penny machines! I love walking on the beach and having a lemon top.
What’s the first CD you ever bought?
It was probably a Steps or 5ive CD as I was a massive fan when I was younger.
