From Halifax to Santander, to Head of Sales at SortRefer
Meet Phil, Head of Sales at SortRefer. He's come a long way from driving a tractor on a farm. Now, while he's not out on the fields in summer, he still manages to keep his tan topped up by taking trips to Spain and spending time in his garden. When he’s not outdoors, he's indoors, heading up the sales team at SortRefer.
No two days are the same
The sales department is set to be a strong team of 12 very soon, with the future appointments of new regional account managers and telephone account managers. Day to day, Phil spends time on the road accompanying the sales team, meeting clients and attending industry events. His experience is heavily based within the financial service industry. He worked with some of the UK's largest lenders, Halifax and Santander. From unsecured lending, to selling Life & Pensions products, the variety of experience helped form the base for management with both large, blue chip lenders and smaller, entrepreneurial companies.
Phil says;
"We've just completed a significant change of sales strategy here at SortRefer and are now looking to broaden and deepen our relationships with those customers who transact business with us. This involves interactions at every level of our business. Our excellent Customer Service team has been expanded and developed and now offers proactive case management and points of contact for all things conveyancing. I think that effective communication between the client, broker and solicitor is vital at an emotional time when buying a property. Our award winning systems certainly help with this, but we can do more and rather than resting on our laurels, we're looking to enhance this further."

Here are some things you may not know:
- He is a bit of a 'biker' and has been riding motorcycles since the age of 18. He currently owns a Kawasaki Z800
- He is a trained PE teacher and a qualified coach in many sports including football, rugby and tennis
- At the age of 14, he was scouted by Liverpool football club
- He is one of those middle aged men seen riding around the countryside on a bicycle, in lycra!
- If stranded on a desert island Phil would take an inflatable dingy (obviously!) but also his Kindle loaded with several books and lots of curry and rice, his favourite food

Excuse the reference to Phil’s farmer days! But as an expanding company, we enjoy what we do and do it well.
