Jordan is our new Telephone BDM for the North London region, working alongside Business Development Manager Roy Mansell. Jordan has worked within the wider company for 5 and a half years, being a Remortgage Case Handler at Sort Legal prior to moving to SortRefer. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge of the Conveyancing industry and is excited to get started.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
Looking forward to working with Roy, Amy, and the rest of the sales team to try and hit our targets.
What led you to pursue your current career?
I wanted a new challenge. Having worked in conveyancing for five years, I’ve got a good knowledge of the remortgage, sale and purchase process which will benefit me when speaking to mortgage brokers.
What are your professional goals for the year ahead?
Firstly, I want to make sure the North London region hit’s its yearly target. Secondly, I want to be the best that I can be.
If money was no object, what would you do all day?
If money wasn’t an object, I’d be with my kids, and we’d do different things every day. Being a dad is the best job in the world.
Who inspires you?
My dad and my granddad inspire me. They’ve shown me that if you want something you have to work at it and work hard. You don’t get anything out of life unless you try and work hard.
What’s your favourite movie of all time and why?
I find it to hard to decide. I love Harry Potter though, could watch them on repeat.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Hard to say as I’ve only just started but I’m very target driven. In my old job we didn’t have targets, but I’d set myself targets for the months and year to give myself something to work towards. Sometimes I didn’t get, sometimes I did. I find that targets motivate people to do more when they can.
Do you have any hobbies? If so, how did you get into them?
I play football, have since I was a kid. Love going to wacth my beloved derby county on a Saturday afternoon. I love walking in the countryside, going up into the Derbyshire dales is sheer bliss. Me and my wife like going to the cinema and we used to do it frequently but since we’ve had kids we don’t do it that often.
How would your friends describe you?
Depending on who you ask, probably funny and slightly weird. But maybe I’m being too generous to myself.
Tell us something few people know about you?
I ran three marathons in 2 months back when I was young and physically fit. Did it for cancer research and raised over £1,000.00.
What advice would you give someone looking to start a career in the property Industry?
Be committed, work as hard and don’t let the bad times get to you even though it’s hard not to at times. Ask questions even if you feel it’s a stupid question. Nobody learns from remaining silent.
